Happy Halloween!

For Halloween, we took our little Yoda around the neighborhood trick or treating.  We started off with the dog and about 4 houses down realized that that was a bad idea!  Jacob was more interested in walking the dog than he was actually trick or treating.  We ended up taking Belle home and then continuing on our way.  Jacob wasn't too sure at first and by the 3rd house he started warming up.  About half way through, he was picking his own candy out of the dish and waving at people.  Even though, he couldn't eat the candy, he sure tried!  He had a couple of successful attempts through the wrapper!  Our neighborhood is pretty slow on Halloween, so our neighbors were happy that we were out and about!

Mmmm...Candy!

C'mon people, answer the door already!

Moving on up....

A few weeks ago, Jacob was moved up in his daycare to the next class.  The Toddler Room!!  He loves it.  They are much more activate!  There were some big changes for him!  He no longer can sleep whenever he wants.  Nap time is from 12-2 and that's it.  He's still adjusting to that as there are many nights that he is exhausted and crabby when he gets home!  He can no longer have a nuk or sippy cup; he only can drink out of a regular cup.  He's doing really well with that part!  The benefits to this classroom is it's a lot more structured.  They have activities planned for the kids and they get to go outside and play too!  They work on their colors, numbers and artistic abilities.  The benefits to the parents is he can now participate in Parent's Night Out!  The second Friday of every month, they allow you to leave your children at daycare until 10pm.  Last night was our first one and it was nice!
Ready for School!  He looks so grown-up!

Baby Update

We are on the home stretch!  I'll be 31 weeks on Monday and I finally get to pick when this little guy is going to arrive.  We are shooting for January 7th, so I hope that works with the Dr's schedules.  We only have 8 weeks to go and we really haven't done anything.  We are just starting Jacob's big boy room this weekend.  He will move out of the nursery shortly after the baby arrives and into his new room with his big boy bed.  I've been buying a lot of the decor for his room.  It is going to Lego themed.  I'll post pictures when it is complete.  The baby has been super active and is a tough little guy!  I feel like I'm carrying him much higher than I did with Jacob because it's quite difficult to breath at times and he is constantly in my ribs!

30 Weeks!
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

1 Year Old!!

Well, actually 13 month old!  I can't seem to stay caught up on my blogging!  A lot has happened since the last blog, but the big event was Jacob's 1st birthday.  I can't believe it has been a year already!  For Jacob's birthday, we took a 3 week trip to Wisconsin.  We had a family birthday party for Jacob at Joe's parent's cabin.  We got to see many of our friends and family while home!  It was great getting to spend as much time as we did with everyone, but it felt good to be back home!  Three weeks is a long time to gone and out of a routine!!  Jacob started walking 2 weeks before his 1st birthday and hasn't slowed down since!  He loves reading, skyping with the family and playing with other kids.  He is drinking cow's milk and eating all table food.  He's not a big fan of veggies, and would goldfish and peaches for every meal if we'd let him!  He's getting to be such a little man!

Baby #2

It's a Boy!  We found out just days before we went on our trip that we are having another baby boy.  As much as I would like to experience a girl, I'm excited to have a second boy.  It will be so much fun for Jacob to have a little brother to grow up with.  They will only be 16 months apart.  This also makes it easier on me since I really don't need anything for the new baby.  He will move into Jacob's nursery and Jacob will move into his big boy room.  Which, hasn't been started yet.  I feel like we are down to crunch time with only 3 months to go and the holidays right around the corner.  The only things we need to do are get Jacob's room done and pick out a name.  We are stumped when it comes to names.  I feel like we have been through 500 boys names over and over and there isn't one that stands out yet.  Hoping it will just come to us one day.  I've been feeling pretty well and glad that we are moving out of the really hot summer months!

October Fun

We went to a fall festival that had a pumpkin patch, corn maze and a play area for children.  Then we went to Oktoberfest in Celebration.  It has been a great October so far and the weather has been gorgeous!

Not to sure about how the hay feels.
